Dr Akin Moses

    Dr Akin Moses graduated from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria, Nigeria in 1981. He is a Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (1991) and Fellow of West African College of Physicians (1994) in the faculty of family medicine.

    He retired from the Nigerian Army in December 2006 after about 27 years’ service in various capacities with the Honors of FSS (Forces’ Service Star), MSS (Meritorious Service Star) and DSS (Distinguished Service Star). He is a Member of the National Institute of Management.

    He joined the National Hospital Abuja (NHA) in February 2007 as Chief Consultant and Head, Department of Family Medicine. He is currently the Coordinator of Training (Family Medicine) in NHA and five other postgraduate medical training institutions. He is the Pioneer Head of the new Department of Emergency Medicine, NHA.  He has trained and produced over 50 Consultant Family Physicians.  He is a member of the Visitation Panel that accredits Medical Training Institutions for postgraduate training in Family Medicine. He is the current Board Chairman, Faculty of Family Medicine, West African College of Physicians (WACP). He also serves as Chairman of the CBT and medical outreach committees of the WACP.

    He was an associate lecturer and external examiner, University of Calabar/University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Calabar. He was the Chief Examiner and subsequently Internal assessor, Faculty of Family Medicine, (WACP). He was the Chairman of the Postgraduate Diploma Committee, Faculty of Family Medicine, National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. He is a Past President, Society of Family Physicians of Nigeria and Member, Bye-Laws Committee, Wonca (World Organization of Family Doctors) World Council.

    Dr. Akin Moses is widely travelled. While in the Nigerian Army, he served in all the five divisions of the Nigerian Army including Bakassi, thus exposing him to numerous interpersonal relationships, multicultural and religious diversities. Some of the countries visited include South Africa, Kenya, Zimbabwe and numerous African Countries, India, Holland, UK, USA, Mexico, China, Slovakia, UAE, Brazil, South Korea, Australia etc.

    He is a member of the Anglican Parish Church Council and Chairman, Bishop’s Nominees, Abuja Anglican Diocese. He is the Chief Medical Director of Family Care Multiclinic, Asokoro, Abuja. He is a member of the IBB International Golf And Country Club, Abuja, Nigeria. He is happily married to Mrs. Olufunmilayo Akin-Moses and blessed with lovely children.
